The Delivery:
I am just learning how to Blog so hopefully this works! As most people know we welcomed Bennett to our family on April 24, 2009 at 4:19pm...after a very long and complicated delivery. I was in labor for 25 hours!! At hour 24.5 they announced he would be joining our family via c-section. I had developed an infection and he couldn't make it over the pelvic bone. Due to my infection Bennett had to spend his first 48 hours in a level 2 nursery and could not be with us. They wanted to monitor him for any complications. Luckily he was healthy and was able to come home as scheduled!!
Being Home:
We've been home for almost a month now and have begun adjusting well. I am learning how to function on very little sleep and Brian is adjusting to waking up every few hours and working on interupted sleep. Overall Bennett has been a happy baby!! Bennett and I have gotten out and about and he has met many of our friends. When my sister was in town we learned that he doesn't like to shop to much. He was a tropper for awhile, but then decided he wasn't to interested in it!
My sister came into town to meet Bennett and participate in his baptism. Nicole is his godmother and Brian's brother Jeff is his godfather. Bennett was baptized on Sunday, May 17th at St. Nicholas church in New Market. (the priest is also a St. Thomas alum--go Tommies!) After a very stressful morning Bennett slept through it all! He was able to wear the same baptisimal gown that all of my cousins (on my mother's side) wore and we used the same blanket that Brian used. We even took some similar pictures of him in the gown that we have of me when I was baptised. We enjoyed having Nicole in town. She stayed with us so she got to spend a lot of time with Bennett. I'm sad that she is so far away, but we will see her again in June and then hopefully with Southwest airlines we can see her more often! Bennett loves his aunt and all the fun gifts she sends him!! :)
Brian and I are enjoying being parents and I am of course starting to worry about screwing up. I am thankful for all of the support I have with friends and family. My friends have been great and I can't thank them enough for the constant support and checking in to make sure we are doing ok. We feel very blessed that we have such wonderful friends and family. Thank you!!
Alright, that is enough of a post for my first one..besides I have to watch the finale of American Idol!!! I will do my best to figure this out and keep it as updated as possible. I hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for checking in.

Megan-
You can NEVER screw up. Really. Just always be there, be attentive, but let him grow and just have fun watching all the changes. You will do fine.
Funny story: When Gage was bout 2 mos. old, I saw a bunch of dried white stuff on his ear. I freaked out and rushed him into the Dr, thinking he had a ruptured eardrum or something leaking out of his little ear! It was DRIED FORMULA! When I talked to Tim AFTER the appt., (yeah, marital communication should come first, right!?!?!?) he said, "Oh, yeah. He spit up this morning and I guess I forgot to wipe it off his face". HA HA HA
That went in the journal for sure....
